Concours d'Elegance

This the premier judging event for the specialist collector restorer.  Join the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada as we celebrate vintage automobiles twenty years old and older.  The Concours d'Elegance is held in mid-June with the date and place specified on the national web site.  The Concours d'Elegance has the following judging classes:

Class I      Veteran and Vintage up to 1931
Class II     Classics 1925 to 1948
Class III    Prewar Production 1946 to 1954
Class IV    Postwar Production 1955 to 1960
Class V     Early Chrome Era 1955 to 1960
Class VI    Late Chrome Era 1961 to 1965
Class VII   Mid Production 1966 to 1975
Class VIII  Late Production 1976 to Present
Class IX    Motorcycles up to Present
Class X     Early Commercial up to 1948
Class XI    Late Commercial 1949 to Present
Class XII   Survivor up to Present
Class XIII  Non-Domestic up to Present

Please note:

  1. There are trophies for Best of Show and for Long Distance
  2. In each class there is Best of Class, 2nd Place, 3rd Place
  3. Registration is from 8:00 am to 10:00 am and judging commences promptly at 10:00 am.  The Awards Dinner (buffet) starts at 6:00 pm.

Qualifying for the Concours

Eligibility

 Except as noted, vehicles shall be as manufactured, with model year being twenty years old or older.

Conditions

"For Sale" signs shall not be displayed.  Participants shall drive their vehicles to the classification area, to be parked by 10:00 am, and not relocate or move until 4:00 pm except on the direction of the Chief Judge.  Vehicles must be available for judging at the stated time with the owner or driver present.

Chief Judge

The Chief Judge is the final authority on matters related to the classifications and judging.

Fire Extinguisher

All vehicles in the Concours shall be equipped with an approved fire extinguisher.

Replacement Parts

Items such as spark plugs, batteries, fan belts, tires, hoses, etc. will be considered authentic provided the judges consider the items to be of the era in which the vehicle was produced.

Vehicle Requirements

No penalty for: changes to comply with Federal or Provincial laws, additions to accommodate physical disabilities, or mechanical changes to oil filters, overdrive units, seat belts, signal lights, and other items which improve safety or lengthen the life of the vehicles, provided the judges decide the changes meet acceptable quality standards of workmanship and are concealed  to the greatest extent practical.

Awards

Winners or their designates shall collect their awards at the formal presentations. ACCCC assumes no responsibility for awards after the awards are presented.

Scoring

Points are based on 1000, shown as a percentage.  That is, 986 points = 98.6% or a score of 98.6.
